2 Hot Drinks for Cold Winter Days for hiking on trails

It is the time of the year we need to stay warm. Nothing else beats the cold better than to have a warm drink in your hands. Here for you today a couple of recipes to make your house smell nice and your belly feel warm. One with booze another without it. Enjoy!

HOT BUT­TERED CIDER A party favorite for all ages, noth­ing says Fall like a stick of butter.

Ingre­di­ents

  • 8 cups apple cider or juice

  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar

  • 4 sticks cinnamon

  • 1 tspn. allspice

  • 1 tspn. whole cloves

  • 1 lemon peel (cut into strips)

  • 2 tbsp. butter

  • optional cin­na­mon sticks

Direc­tions

  • Com­bine Cider and Brown Sugar into Large Vat

  • Add Spices and Lemon Peel to “Spice Bag” (wrapped in cheese cloth), and Add to Vat

  • Boil, Cover and Sim­mer for 15 Minutes

  • Add 1/2 Tea­spoon to each Serv­ing (makes 10–12 servings)

Ingre­di­ents

  • 1 oz. brandy, whiskey, or rum

  • 1 tbsp. honey

  • 1/4 Lemon

  • 1 cup hot water

  • 1 tea bag

Direc­tions

  • Coat Glass with Honey

  • Add Liquor and Squeezed Lemon Juice

  • Add Tea Bag and Steep with Boil­ing Water
