HOW TRAIL RUNNING FOUND ME

Non-competitively, I began running(jogging) at the age of 14. Due to knee pain, I had to give it a rest for about 5 years. I took up mostly with indoor exercises, spinning, core- work and yoga. All great but in the end wasn’t giving me the endurance nor the freedom to be outdoors. This brought me back to the desire to run. Trail running!

I started with 2 miles and incrementally, over time, increased adding a ½ mile more. Within 6 months, I felt I had the strength to give a try at half marathon trail runs.

Being out alone on the mountains, breathing the fresh air, I could meditate, feeling free to move forward outdoors. I was hooked. My priority became running, integrating what I had learned from my previous exercise routines. I set my goals according to what my body limits were, exploring new trails with other enthusiasts.

Within my 1st year of trail run racing, I discovered that I wasn’t too bad and I could keep a competitive pace, with room to grow. Trail running has invited me to experience some incredible destinations. From California State Parks to Oregon to Washington.

Follow along as I continue my journey. I am far from and expert, but I am having a blast, learning a lot, hoping to inspire as I continue exploring new trails.
