A great experience attending the Salomon Trail Running Event
I had the pleasure of attending the Salomon Trail Running TV Exclusive Episodes(films yet to be released for public viewing)+International Team Q&A earlier this December. It was a fantastic experience to meet, mingle and chat with some of the best Salomon Ultra Elite runners from all over the world visiting San Francisco, California for the North Face Endurance Challenge Championship that took place December 7th & 8th, 2014.
Team members:
Anna Frost-New Zealand
Ricky Gates
Dimitris Theodorakakos-Greece
Greg Vollet
Tofol Castanyer-Mallorca, Spain
My personal Q&A highlight was when the question was asked, “What would be the main advice for a first time 50 mile runner?” Two of the athletes agreed and said, “Be present in the moment.”
Salomon’s Team Manager Greg Vollet commented further. He explains the team trains and races together, assisting each other individually and as a whole. With this approach, there is no pressure, none imposed. It’s the athlete who chooses the dream they want to realize. Being present in the moment. Trail running is not only about competition, it’s also about the freedom, improving, exploring, learning and being.
Fellow teammate, Dimitris added beautifully, “Elite or not, we all pursue being outdoors in nature. We all have different goals why we do it but we are all united by the love of the mountains, trails and Mother Nature.”
Like the Salomon Team, We at Trailulive want to help bring awareness to trail running to support the benefits, the values, the joys of freedom experienced being outdoors.
Trailblazers, help us to continue that reality by sharing your stories, your photos, your experiences and may Mother Nature’s call be continued to be heard. Follow us at Trailulive!
